Description

Some pieces simply deserve to be saved, and this is one of them.

Printed in 1858, this large county wall map captures Oneida County as it appeared more than 165 years ago. Beyond the county map itself, it includes beautifully detailed village maps, business directories, and period illustrations that make it just as fascinating up close as it is hanging on a wall.

Yes, it has lived a life.

There are tears, stains, creases, missing paper, and plenty of honest wear from over a century and a half of history. We haven’t attempted any restoration because we’d rather let the next caretaker decide whether to preserve it as-is or pursue professional conservation.

Whether you’re a local history enthusiast, map collector, museum, decorator, or someone looking for a truly unique conversation piece, opportunities like this don’t come along very often.

Imagine standing in front of it and tracing where your family lived in the 1800s or comparing today’s roads to those laid out before automobiles even existed.

Sometimes imperfections tell the best stories.
